I have a folder of sketches that I’ve started and put down for one reason or another. This is one of those sketches. I needed a sketch to dump some color on. I finally had a chance to go through all my markers and wanted to try some out. I LOVE this red. It’s probably my favorite shade of my favorite color.

Enemy Sniper

I used to play backyard war with some friends when I was a kid. Back then, we used single pump Daisy Red Rider BB guns and ski goggles for protection. The boundaries were usually one field or plot of woods that would be the battlefield and a back yard that was the neutral zone. Normally, you would think you’d be on the same level of skill as the other guys, right?

Not so much.

Just like anything else, there are those kids who did well and then there are those who excelled.

…and then, of course, their is those who suck.

When I studied the Vietnam conflict, I would think back on those games we played and wondered how accurate the statistics are. How many of those that fought the enemy, sucked at fighting and died as a direct result?

How many were really good and lived?

How many beat the odds?

Sumo vs. Ninja

I had this colleague in college who could draw like nobody else. Some would argue, he was a genius with a pen. He retired for no apparent reason.

His name is John Paul Lona.

Yep, John, I just totally called you out.

So now what are you going to draw about it? Huh?

I dare you.

I double-dog dare you.

In the Furnace

Apparently, I have changed my signature to BIO and forgot to remind myself.

Actually, I forgot to erase that and put my initials and the date. The original name of this was BIOHAZ, but then I put him in a furnace so the name no longer made much sense.

Flight

I have proven to myself time and time again that I can’t control myself around Starburst and/or Smarties.

Larry, Gus and I had dinner and a movie tonight. I had just enough to feel full. That is until Gus pulled out the Starburst Fruit Chews of Uncomfortableness. I ate one after the other.

Gah…I am paying for it now.
